PPSCNY will hold a section print competition 4 times per year as follows:
- January
- May
- September
- November
The following guidelines apply:
- Members may submit a maximum of 3 prints per competition
- Will be judged "as seen"
- Prints must be a minimum of 10 inches (wide or long).
- May be retouched
- Must be mounted or matted
Print Scoring:
- 4 points will be awarded for the 1st Place print (Blue Ribbon)
- 3 points will be awarded for a 2nd Place print (Red Ribbon)
- 2 points will be awarded for a 3rd Place print (Green Ribbon)
- 1 point will be awarded for EACH non-placing print entered
Example: Member submits 3 prints. One print receives a 1st place award. Member will receive a total of 6 points -- 4 points for 1st place, and 1 point for each of two prints not placing.
Marvin Sarkin Award
The Marvin Sarkin Award will be presented to the member receiving the most points from the quarterly print competitions, and will be awarded at the meeting immediately following the annual PPSNYS Convention, usually in April.
For 2002, the Marvin Sarkin Award was presented to member Jim Naklick (http://www.manorhouse1.com).
