What a great learning opportunity there was this month for the Professional
Photographers Society of CNY. We were honored to have Doug Hansgate of Advantage
Media Production give us a mini seminar on HDR. We traveled to Columbus Circle
located in Downtown Syracuse NY. Using the Court House and the Cathedral as the
background to a model in a wedding dress we learned to set our cameras to capture
true HDR images. Doug challenged us to use foreground images and change our angles
making the images we were creating more interesting. Off camera flash, tripods, wireless
downloads, and remote controls were used in the process. After we finished the shoot
we headed to Justin’s Grill to download the images and go through the work process
on creating HDR images. Doug Hansgate also gave us tips on Lightroom , Photoshop
and how to market our images to our client. Pointing out that we are in business to sell
our images and that we should be creating images that people will buy. Everyone who
attended will use the information that Doug taught us to create our own HDR Master
Pieces for our client. Thanks to Doug for sharing his knowledge with us.
